wrapped up in pleasure

Apr. 18th, 2008 | 05:45 pm
mood: happy happy
music: Subterraneans by David Bowie

I just decided to post another entry.
All of my former ones are very single-sided and written in mostly the same dampened mood.

Right now I'm experiencing a great day and just wanted to make a note of it.

I just got back from the bakery: I needed a bread, because i have no idea how to get rid of these large amounts of cheese I hoard in my fridge.

My earphones broke yesterday and I dug out some old ones that surround the whole ear and have a retainer running over my head. I needed the music to entertain myself on the 10-Minute-Walk ahead of me.
Looking in the mirror, I decided I looked a little like an alien.
But I was totally surprised by the great sound quality the earphones produced. With my old ones i always had the problem that every two or three minutes one of them slipped out of my ear... somehow my physiology isn't made for them - but these other ones just remained and didn't annoy me. I guess I will buy some better looking phones of the same style next week.

The sun was shining and it was quite warm, so I was glad I made it out of my apartment.
On my way, a passing biker waved at me. I was confused, but he surely mistook me with someone he knows. But it really felt good about being seen and interacted with.
The ladies in the bakery were very funny and we chatted a moment.
Heading back home a man walking out of an entry way stopped to let me pass and smiled at me.
In addition to that my ipod jumped to "The Warmth" by Incubus just the same moment.

That really made my day!

the sun is out and up and down again
i know i'll make it, love can last forever
graceful swans of never topple to the earth
and you can make it last, forever you
you can make it last, forever you
and for a moment i lose myself
wrapped up in the pleasures of the world
i've journeyed here and there and back again
but in the same old haunts i still find my friends
mysteries not ready to reveal
sympathies i'm ready to return
i'll make the effort, love can last forever
graceful swans of never topple to the earth" The Smashing Pumpkins
